Great knitting project for beginner knitters, Easy Knit Ear Warmer Pattern in 1 hour or Less!

Textured Twist Knitted Headband- easy/beginner
by Hannah Schneider @ Naptime Knitter Design
- This stretchy and textured headband/ear warmer is knitted in seed stitch and knits up super FAST (less than an hour)!
- Great pattern for a Beginner knitter or if you want a fast pattern to knit!
- Adult size/Women’s average size
- Skill Level: Beginner
This pattern is very beginner/new knitter friendly. You will need to know how to knit and purl, cast on and bind off. I designed this ear warmer pattern to be very stretchy to fit a variety of preferences. I love when my knit headbands fit a bit snug, yet not tight bc I am prone to headaches if they fit tight. This is a more relaxed sizing bc of the texture.
As for the yarn type, you can choose any super bulk yarn (6 weight). I typically use Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick but I also like to splurge once in awhile and use Malabrigo Rasta. It’s just SO SQUISHY! And warm bc its 100% wool. But you pick whatever yarn you like.
Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick is easy to find at the craft stores and I love that it can be machine washed. I have 5 kids afterall…things have to be able to be washed. LOL!
I hope you love knitting up this twist headband pattern!!

This knitted headband is worked back and forth on straight or circular needles.
- Skills and terms you will need to know: knit (K), Purl (P), Cast on (CO), Bind off.
- Casting on: When you cast on, make sure you do not pull the yarn too tightly, just relaxed yet even tension.
- Fit of finished ear warmer: I design my headbands to keep your ears warm and not be too loose. However, if you like a looser fit, you can go up a needle size, or .you may find that after a few wears the yarn will relax a bit.
- Also, this is an easy pattern to modify for different sizes, simply CO any number of stitches and knit it as tall as you would like in the pattern.

Add the fold.
Lay out your rectangle and find the middle of both sides and pinch them together making a < and a > shape.
Now, put the fold together, inserting the < into the >
Line up the folds with one another so you can sew them together.
Take your darning needle and sew the fold together across the fold, making sure you are catching all 4 of the stitch layers in the fold you created.
- Weave in any loose ends. Attach your tag, if using.
- The finished ear warmer!
If the ear warmer feels snug, it will relax after a few wears or you can put your hands in it and firmly shape it so the yarn will relax. If the edge feels too tight, you may need either go up a needle size or Cast on and bind off more loosely. If its too loose, you can adjust your number of stitches (just make sure it’s an even number).
