Let’s get started:
This knitted checkered textured scarf is a fast and easy pattern, making it great for beginner knitters. I love the simple and classic style of a checkered pattern that makes the color shine through without being “busy”. It works up fast! I’m a fairly fast knitter and it took me about 4 hours to complete. I love projects that knit up fast so I can give them as gifts or make them for my Etsy business.
As for yarn selection: My favorite yarn to use, which makes it a quick knit, is Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick yarn. It takes about 1 1/2 skeins of the solid colors and 2 skeins of the multi color yarn of the Wool Ease. As for length, the typical adult length for a scarf is 60 inches long. The children’s version is 48 inches, men’s version is 70 inches. Feel free to knit this scarf as long as you would like.
