This knitted headband knits up FAST! It’s a quick and easy pattern for beginner knitters. Great pattern for your first knitting project. Made with any super bulky yarn. Usually takes me about an hour or less to knit.
This is one of my favorite patterns to knit quickly and in bulk. If you are also have a busy lifestyle and run a small knitting business, this is a fast pattern to knit in bulk, without feeling like you need to get a knitting machine. I love that I can use a thick yarn, making it warm and cozy!

Materials
- US Size 11 needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
- Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick or any Super Bulky (6 weight) yarn, about 50 yards
- Darning needle for finishing
- Custom tag (if using)
Gauge: 9 st and 13 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette st
Finished Size:

Tips and Skills to know:
This knitted headband is worked back and forth on straight or circular needles.
- Skills and terms you will need to know: knit (K), Cast on (CO)
- Casting on: When you cast on, make sure you do not pull the yarn too tightly, just relaxed yet even tension.
- Fit of finished ear warmer: I design my headbands to keep your ears warm and not be too loose. However, if you like a looser fit, you can go up a needle size, or .you may find that after a few wears the yarn will relax a bit.
- This is an easy pattern to modify for different sizes, just cast on any number.
Knit Twist Headband Pattern
This stretchy and textured headband/ear warmer is knitted in garter stitch and knits up super FAST (less than an hour)!

Materials
- US Size 11 needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
- Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick or any Super Bulky (6 weight) yarn, about 50 yards
- Darning needle for finishing
- Custom tag (if using)
Instructions
The Pattern:
CO 42 stitches with even tension, but NOT tightly.
Rows 1-22: knit all stitches. Back and forth until your headband measures 5 inches tall (about 22 rows).
Row 23: Bind off loosely/very loosely. It will be a long rectangle until you fold it. Measures about 20 inches across (without stretching).
Add the fold.
Lay out your rectangle and find the middle of both sides and pinch them together making a < and a > shape.
Now, put the fold together, inserting the < into the >
Line up the folds with one another so you can sew them together.
Take your darning needle and sew the fold together across the fold, making sure you are catching all 4 of the stitch layers in the fold you created.
Finishing:
- Weave in any loose ends. Attach your tag, if using.
The finished ear warmer!
If the ear warmer feels snug, it will relax after a few wears or you can put your hands in it and firmly shape it so the yarn will relax. If the edge feels too tight, you may need either go up a needle size or Cast on and bind off more loosely.
