I love knitting these scarves. It usually takes me about 3 hours to make, which is fast for a scarf! I don’t have the patience for those long patterns that take many hours to make. I’m a busy momma of 5 and love the satisfaction of knitting up fast projects.

  1. Please excuse my ignorance. I’m a brand new knitter looking for a first project (I have practiced casting on, knitting, and purling quite a bit, but no projects yet). This looks like a great one! But I’ve heard you should slip stitch your first stitch to make edges neat. Is that needed on this scarf, or not? Thanks so much!

    1. Hi Melissa, Thanks so much for asking. It is not necessary to slip the first stitch for this pattern. It can make more of a neat edge for certain patterns, but I have found this pattern looks great without slipping any stitches on the edges. Happy Knitting!

I love your blue Ava Knitted Scarf. Would you please tell me the color you used in the Lion Brand Wool Ease Quick and Thick. Also, could you tell me what company you used to buy your tags. Everything about the scarf is perfect. I can’t wait to knit this scarf. Thank you

    1. It is called Petrol Blue. I buy my tags on Etsy from a small company called Birch and Cider. Glad you love the pattern!! Happy Knitting!!
